I am delighted to share with you the news that a new composer Lindsey Berwin has joined EVC Music and her new book All the Fun of the Fair, with the Contemporary Classical piano pieces for Intermediate to Advanced level, will be released later this summer.
Lindsey Berwin gained a degree in music and a piano teaching diploma from The Royal Academy of Music, and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education from Durham University. She has been teaching the piano and performing in Leeds for over 30 years, and at Queen Elizabeth Grammar School and Wakefield Girls’ High School since 2002. Lindsey has become well-known for her innovative approaches to improving key skills whilst maintaining enjoyment for her students.
She is the composer of FunKey!, a series of books designed to improve piano students’ sight reading skills using the jazz-based material, and Jazz Keys, its counterpart for the flute. Lindsey is a keen supporter of all genre compositions, both in her own right and as a teacher, and she and her pupils regularly win prizes in the annual European Piano Teachers Composers’ Competition (EPTA). Until recently she was the Musical Director of the women’s choir Upper Harmony, and frequently composed and arranged music for them to perform.
