alternatives to the standard examination
There are eight LCM Piano grades, plus three introductory levels, four performance diplomas and three teaching diplomas.
The standard graded exams consist of a performance of three pieces, technical work, sight reading, a discussion and aural tests.
Recital – an exam entirely or predominantly performance-based
Leisure Play – a performance of four pieces, with an optional own-choice piece
Concert – an entirely performance-based diploma exam
All DipLCM candidates are now required to perform at least one piece from In Concert.
All ALCM and LLCM candidates are now required to perform at least one piece from In Concert Book 2.
